I've written about Zoom before, especially regarding the interesting disconnect between its growth and market sentiments. This short article is to pen down a few observations I've been making recently.
Zoom Video Communications (NASDAQ: ZM) has been making some strategic moves that highlight its growing influence in the enterprise communication space. Recently, a few significant migrations and partnerships have underscored Zoom's expanding ecosystem. Let’s take a closer look at these developments and what they mean
Two Major Migrations to Zoom Platforms
Twilio Video to Zoom Video SDK:
What’s Happening?: Twilio, known for its cloud communication services, is shifting its video services to Zoom’s Video SDK. This means developers who used Twilio for video integration will now use Zoom’s technology.
Why It’s Interesting: This move shows that Zoom’s video technology is highly respected in the developer community. It’s a strong endorsement and could help Zoom expand its reach in the video SDK market.
What’s Happening?: Meta Workplace, a platform for internal business communication, is transitioning to Workvivo, which Zoom acquired. Workvivo focuses on improving employee experience and engagement.
Why It’s Interesting: Bringing Meta Workplace into Workvivo under Zoom’s umbrella is a smart move. It broadens Zoom’s tools for enterprise communication and shows their commitment to enhancing employee engagement. This makes Zoom a bigger player in the internal communication space.
Interesting partnership
Zoom and Avaya Partner to Offer Advanced Collaboration Experiences:
What’s Happening?: Zoom and Avaya have joined forces to integrate Zoom Workplace with Avaya's Communication & Collaboration Suite.
Why It’s Interesting: This partnership aims to make it easier for businesses to manage their communications and workflows. Avaya customers will benefit from Zoom’s advanced user experience while keeping their existing setups. Avaya, lacking the resources to develop or acquire new solutions, is using this partnership to offer new services and retain its user base. This is also beneficial for Zoom as it expands its influence.
Final Thoughts
Above partnerships and migrations are significant in my view not only for Zooms growth but also it shows its position as a key player in the industry. On the side not, There are rumors about EU is set to issue Antitrust charges against Microsoft. If that’s true, it will help Zoom.
Latest result doesn't show any growth.
